Special Release No. 5 is a single cask bottling, showcasing what patience, oak and time can achieve.

Distilled on Anglesey from pure cane molasses and matured for three full years in a carefully selected ex-Rioja wine cask, this limited release has developed remarkable depth and complexity. The influence of the Spanish red wine cask adds layers of rich red fruit and gentle spice while allowing the character of our handcrafted rum to remain at the forefront.

Bottled at 50% ABV with natural colour and non-chill filtration, this is a bold yet beautifully balanced sipping rum.

Tasting Notes

Nose
Ripe cherries, blackberry compote and plum, followed by vanilla, toasted oak and delicate baking spices.

Palate
Rich toffee, dark berries, dried fruit and caramel give way to warming cinnamon, milk chocolate and subtle oak tannins from the Rioja cask.

Finish
Long, smooth and warming with lingering red fruit, vanilla and toasted oak.

Crafted on Anglesey

Every bottle of Anglesey Rum Co. begins with pure cane molasses, fermented using Welsh water before being distilled in small batches at Llanfairpwll Distillery on the Isle of Anglesey.

Rather than using imported bulk rum, we control every stage of production ourselves—from fermentation through to distillation, maturation and bottling—creating a genuine Welsh rum with its own unique identity.
