Our Story

Llanfairpwll Distillery was founded with a simple but powerful ambition — to create exceptional Welsh spirits that truly reflect the character of Anglesey.

What began as a small kitchen-table experiment quickly grew into a fully operational craft distillery in Gaerwen, where every bottle is still distilled, bottled and labelled by hand. Our focus has always been on authenticity, quality and a deep connection to place.

Using carefully selected botanicals, locally inspired ingredients and traditional distilling methods, we produce genuine small-batch spirits that capture the flavour and spirit of North Wales.

Meet the Founders

Llanfairpwll Distillery was founded by husband and wife team Rob and Maria, whose shared passion for craft spirits and Welsh provenance sits at the heart of everything we do.

Rob, Head Distiller, leads recipe development and production, carefully balancing traditional techniques with modern innovation. Maria brings the brand to life through customer experience, events and the warm welcome visitors receive at the distillery.

Together, they have grown Llanfairpwll Distillery from a small start-up into an award-winning Welsh producer — while keeping the same hands-on, small-batch ethos that started it all.

Proudly Made on Anglesey

We are proud to distil every drop on the Isle of Anglesey, using Welsh water and locally inspired ingredients wherever possible. From our craft gins to our award-winning rums and emerging single malt whisky programme, everything we produce is rooted firmly in place.

Our mission remains simple: create premium Welsh spirits with genuine provenance, exceptional flavour and a true sense of where they come from.
